If the shoe is suitable for machine washing
Remove loose dirt first. Take out the laces and removable insoles when appropriate, use a mild detergent and choose a gentle, cool cycle. Avoid high heat and do not use a tumble dryer unless the manufacturer explicitly allows it.
How should sneakers be dried?
Air-dry them in a ventilated area away from direct heat and intense sunlight. Stuffing the shoes lightly with clean paper can help them retain shape and absorb moisture; replace the paper as it becomes damp.
When is hand cleaning better?
For leather, suede, glued decorative elements or shoes with mixed materials, targeted hand cleaning is usually easier to control. Use products appropriate for the material and test them in a small area first.
